CORO SINFONICO REINE STIMME

The Coro Sinfonico Reine Stimme (‘Pure Voice’) is the vocal ensemble linked to the Accademia della Voce del Piemonte.
It was founded in 2000 by maestro Sonia Franzese who still directs it. It counts 50 singers, new additions coming every year.
The result is a body of great vocal and musical ductility with a vast repertoire of operatic, symphonic and sacred music much appreciated by the public and the major Italian orchestras with which it regularly collaborates.
The Coro Sinfonico Reine Stimme has collaborated since its origins with La Nuova Arca and the Accademia della Voce del Piemonte. Among the operatic productions of the Accademia in which it has taken part are:  La traviata at the Museo del Cinema in Turin, L’italiana in Algeri at the Carignano theatre in Turin and Giacosa theatre in Ivrea; Il trovatore the Sociale theatre of Soresina, L’elisir d’amore, Don Pasquale, Didone e Enea, Don Giovanni directed by Claudio Desderi, Carmen, Rigoletto with Leo Nucci, La sonnambula, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Tosca, La bohème, Madama Butterfly, Cavalleria rusticana at Teatro Superga. It participates with the Brixia Sinergy Orchestra in the Festival di Musica Sacra of Brescia and held the concert “Il Sacro nell’opera” for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin.

The Coro Sinfonico Reine Stimme has been taking part for years in the award ceremony of the Premio Internazionale Arca d’Oro Italia Sapere Aude, organized by the Accademia della Voce del Piemonte.
For sacred music, it has in its repertorie, among others, the Gloria by Vivaldi, the Mass K 427 and the Requiem K 626 by Mozart, the Stabat Mater and the Petite Messe Solennelle by Rossini, the Requiem Mass by Verdi.
The Coro Sinfonico Reine Stimme carries out an intense artistic activity in Italy and abroad. It is present at «Opera estate» on Lake Garda and at «Opéra de Chambre de France» in Menton. In 2010 it performed Mozart’s Requiem at Castel Gandolfo, conducted by Claudio Desderi, for the fifth anniversary of the Pontificate of Benedict XVI; the concert was broadcast worldwide by Vatican TV. In 2015 it participated in popstar Mika’s concert at the Teatro Sociale in Como, conducted by Simon Leclerc. In 2016, it takes part in two dates of «Italia, un sogno» staged at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona and at the Fraschini theatre in Pavia by the English director John Pascoe, protagonist tenor Vittorio Grigòlo (2016).
In 2017, it participated in the concert-event «Orvieto4ever» with Andrea Bocelli. Together with Bocelli, it was twice the official choir of the exclusive event organized by the tenor in Lajatico (Pisa): at the 12th edition, the gala with Bocelli, Leo Nucci and the étoile Carla Fracci under the direction of Marcello Rota; at the 13th, the staging of Andrea Chénier with Bocelli, Vladimir Stoyanov and Sabina Cvilak directed by Steven Mercurio.
In July 2018, Coro Sinfonico Reine Stimme is present with the Cameristi della Scala at the Festival International de Musique Symphonique in El Jem, Tunisia. At the 58th edition of the Sanremo Festival, it accompanied the Il Volo trio. In December 2018, it participated with the Cameristi della Scala in the 29th edition of the KPMG concert-event in Milan Cathedral.
The choir has performed the world premiere of numerous compositions for the Accademia della Voce del Piemonte. Among these, the opera La matassa e la rosa by the composer Luciano Vavolo, starring actress Pamela Villoresiat, in Turin’s Palazzo Reale. The Choral Symphony Halevi by American Arnold Saltzman under the direction of Jeff Silberschlag. And in 2019, the cantata for soloists, choir and trio of guitars David and Bathsheba by Norwegian Gisle Krogseth, conducted by Sonia Franzese.
