PREMIO INTERNAZIONALE
ARCA D’ORO ITALIA
SAPERE AUDE 2021
It is awarded to the famous British stage director, set, costume and video designer JOHN PASCOE.
In his 40 year international career, his work has restored the lustre and prestige of Italian opera in the major houses of the world where his stylish productions have always been applauded for their beauty and intelligence as well as for their absolute fidelity to the text as viewed through current sensibilities. These aspects combined with his passion for opera itself, led to multiple productions created at the request of: Dame Joan Sutherland, Placido Domingo, Renée Fleming, Vittorio Grigolo, Maestro Alan Curtis and the composer Giancarlo Menotti. Today, his invention of “Motion Video Scenery” used first for Vittorio Grigolo in “ITALIA UN SOGNO” is part of his drive to bring opera to a wider and younger audience.
